近期國內新冠疫情不斷，根據衛福部疾病管制署表示， 6月迎來疫情高峰，仍需高度關注。而除了自身的健康維持，環境清潔也成為重要的關鍵，宸忻營養中心營養師羅晞蕾表示，「過度清潔」像是酒精、漂白水消毒等，恐刺激寶寶脆弱體質，如一不注意使用過量，恐引起皮膚泛紅、搔癢等不適症狀。
研究指出，過度清潔可能擾亂腸道菌群平衡，增加過敏發生率；甚至干擾正常免疫系統發展，間接提高過敏風險。許多人以為必須頻繁使用酒精或其他消毒產品以防止疾病，但事實上，這樣的作法除了可能讓環境中的有益菌群也遭受破壞，長期下來甚至可能使有害菌產生耐受性，進一步影響人體自然抵禦能力。
營養師表示，環境存在很多微生物跟致病菌，因此最常出現的迷思是，覺得要不斷使用酒精等殺菌液清潔手部或環境才不會生病，但過度使用殺菌劑跟抗菌劑，壞菌不旦容易春風吹又生；一方面好菌也會隨著殺菌消匿，一旦環境產生抗藥性，導致人體菌叢失衡，抵抗力與自癒能力，也將變得不堪一擊。
