自己幫自己植牙，真的可以嗎？桃園一名牙醫診所院長林建佑醫師做到了，還把過程影片PO上網引發討論，影片中他看著鏡子，自行拿工具進行植牙，而且他植的是右上排最後一顆牙齒，堪稱視野死角，難度相當高，不過他也透露植牙原因，是因為愛吃硬的東西，自己把牙齒咬壞了。
牙醫自己植牙，實屬罕見，影片一出引發熱烈討論，有人形容根本黑傑克，還有人開玩笑醫生都不相信其他的牙醫了，點閱破20萬人次，但這過程可不容易。植牙DIY過程中，準備手術要先打麻藥。林院長對著鏡子中的牙齒作業，鏡象後一時之間有點左右不分，花了一會才習慣過來。
林建佑院長服務於桃園京鼎牙醫診所，曾至美國羅馬等地深造植牙專業，獲選為2024商周百大牙醫，2024桃園市優良牙醫師獎，並擔任台灣數位植牙美學學會學術主委。即便專精植牙數十年，面對自己植牙，林院長表示：「光上麻藥的時候，就得配合鏡象，挑戰右撇子用左手打麻藥挑，打下去牙肉開始麻，喪失感覺後更要依靠手感及定位，尤其右上最後一顆，以前是個很難植，容易植歪的位置，手術頗具難度，幸好有最新科技的導航定位輔助，提高精準度，植牙非常成功！」為了讓患者一次了解所有植牙知識，林院長還寫了一篇萬言書「植牙大禮包」：https://lihi2.com/I2eWG
但身為醫師最重要的，還是衛教病人正確觀念。院長林建佑表示：「因為我喜歡咬硬的，那顆牙齒補完沒有注意，咬硬的時候啪一聲，整個裂開就只好拔牙植牙。提醒各位民眾，平常牙齒有狀況一定要搭配半年定期回診，牙醫師先幫你檢查一些小問題，趁早處理掉。」日前也有整形醫師幫自己動刀結紮，引發網友討論，但一般民眾千萬別自行嘗試，手術這件事還是上醫療院所尋求醫師協助，林建佑院長也呼籲，切記要讓專業的來。
