這幾天氣溫變化大，有過敏體質的民眾可要小心了！眼科醫師指出，這兩週因過敏性結膜炎而前來就診的患者就增加了約3成左右，提醒民眾，一旦眼睛不適，應立即就醫，以免角膜發炎。
季節性的過敏性鼻炎、結膜炎是最普遍的眼睛過敏！患者會因為對空氣中的特定過敏原過敏，而有打噴嚏、流鼻水或鼻塞、眼睛紅、眼睛癢等症狀。書田診所眼科主任吳仁斌強調，「這是因為季節變化對人體而言，本來就是一種考驗。」
值得注意的是，過敏性結膜炎的症狀從很輕微的到非常嚴重、甚至失明威脅的併發症都有。吳仁斌說，曾有新聞報導，有患者因眼睛過敏發癢而頻揉眼睛，沒想到卻導致角膜潰瘍。
吳仁斌因此提醒，有過敏體質的民眾，應提高警覺，勤洗手、避免接觸過敏原；一旦過敏性結膜炎急性發作時，應立即就醫，千萬不要揉眼睛，以免愈揉愈癢。此外，由於眼睛過敏時，並不一定會紅腫，建議家長應多注意家中幼童是否有眼睛發癢或頻揉眼睛的現象。
