據國民健康署「健康促進統計年報資料」顯示，成人過重及肥胖率高達50.3%，世界衛生組織指出肥胖就是一種慢性疾病，即使身體沒有不適，但仍會影響體內器官的運作，並帶來許多併發症，包含癌症、心臟疾病、腦血管疾病、糖尿病、高血壓…等，國人須重視肥胖對健康所帶來的危害。輔大醫院胃腸肝膽科主治醫師 林暘朝醫師表示目前除了飲食及運動外，有許多人會藉由藥物或醫療技術來達到減重效果，現在還可選擇使用醫美常見的肉毒來進行減重。

林暘朝醫師解釋，胃內肉毒是利用胃鏡將特定比例與劑量的肉毒杆菌素，注射到胃內特定部位的肌肉層，使胃部蠕動變慢，减緩排空，增加飽足感並降低食量，且無須住院，效果約可維持4-6個月(因人而異)，安全性高，但是需要專科醫師執行，術後還是必須配合飲食及適度運動，才能讓效果更持久。林醫師也提醒減重可先從飲食控制與運動做起，並且因肉毒桿菌仍屬神經毒素，有些特殊患者即不適合在胃裡施打肉毒桿菌素，因此不是每個人都適用肉毒減重，故仍要與醫師仔細溝通，選擇適合的治療方式。

而此次活動也邀請到林暘朝醫師的胃內肉毒減重案例來到現場進行分享，石小姐表示長期被肥胖問題所困擾，不滿意過胖的外表與體型，嘗試過各種減重方法，但總是難以持久，與林醫師討論過後決定嘗試胃內肉毒減重，在十個月內成功從101公斤瘦到73公斤，減重率達27.7%，BMI也從38下降到27，目前正在使用減重藥物繼續治療，搭配健康飲食跟規律運動，體重也維持得很好。每個人都可以變成自己喜歡的模樣，但提醒還要以健康的方式來減重，過度極端減肥身體會受不了，反而得不償失。
