近日氣溫大幅下降，H7N9 禽流感的歷史好發季節也將於下週開始，與台灣交流頻繁的中國大陸地區入秋以來已陸續出現 8 例 H7N9 流感確定病例，旅遊疫情建議新疆、江蘇、浙江、廣東皆為第二級：警示（Alert），疾病管制署表示民眾應開始提高警覺，計畫前往中國大陸的民眾，務必保持良好衛生習慣，避免接觸禽鳥。
疾管署副署長莊人祥表示，去年 H7N9 流感從第五十週開始有較多案例增加，進入好發季節，本週是第四十九週，近日氣溫驟降，今年的H7N9 流感期即將到來。由於疫情主要發生地仍為中國，致死率約3成8，逾半數病例有禽鳥或病毒汙染環境接觸史。因此，前往中國大陸的民眾，特別是在出現病例之省份，應避免接觸禽鳥類，包括傳統市場及溼地之活禽，尤其切勿撿拾禽鳥屍體；食用雞、鴨、鵝及蛋類要熟食；並應落實洗手等個人衛生措施，以避免感染。
與A型的 H1N1、H3N2及 B 型流感不同，A 型的 H7N9 目前並沒有疫苗可以接種，如果染病，除了支持性療法，兩天內還可用抗病毒藥物治療。有關 H7N9 流感相關資訊可參閱疾管署網站之新型A型流感專區，或撥打免付費民眾疫情通報及關懷專線1922(或0800-001922)洽詢。
