這標題不是亂掰的，這是一篇刊登在美國國家科學院院刊 (Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, PNAS) 的研究結果。
這是美國佛羅里達州立大學針對 118 對新婚四年內夫妻的訪談結果。他們主要針對妻子做問卷調查，主題放在對婚姻的滿意度及使用避孕藥的情形。研究團隊的發現很有趣：當她們在服用荷爾蒙類避孕藥期間遇到她們後來的老公，在婚後停用避孕藥，如果老公被認為是長得帥的，婚姻滿意度會提高；如果被認為長得不帥，那麼停用避孕藥後，婚姻滿意度會下降。
相對地，婚後才開始吃避孕藥的婦女，並不會產生這種差別。領導這項研究的心理學博士候選人 Michelle Russell 表示，這與女性體內荷爾蒙影響生育有關，代表自然的狀態下，荷爾蒙會讓女性傾向找帥的配偶以利繁衍後代。不過她強調研究並無法指出這是一種因果關係，也許其他因素直接造成這個結果，例如女性是否已經懷孕、想要懷孕，或是丈夫的滿意度如何。
研究也發現，如果婚姻中停止服用避孕藥後一段時間又開始服用，滿意度並沒有變化。研究團隊認為雌激素會是其中一個顯著的影響因子，未來將繼續進行相關研究。
