關於12月23日食藥署公告有關忠信國際開發事業有限公司平行輸入日本龜甲萬公司製造之龜甲萬牡蠣味高湯醬油、龜甲萬昆布味高湯醬油、龜甲萬高湯醬油，有防腐劑超標不符合台灣法規，需在邊境退運或銷毀，統萬股份有限公司聲明如下：
1.在台灣生產的全系列龜甲萬醬油是由統萬(股)公司在台灣台南新市廠所生產的商品，完全不添加防腐劑，品質符合台灣食品安全衛生法規，台灣製其標籤為全中文標示。
2.本次於邊境檢查中未合格之產品，包括「龜甲萬牡蠣味高湯醬油」、「龜甲萬昆布味高湯醬油」、「龜甲萬高湯醬油」，均為於日本合法販售之商品，其配方及成分亦符合日本當地相關食品法規。惟忠信國際開發事業有限公司並非正式進口貿易商，於進口前未充分確認產品成分，亦未完整查核台灣食品法規相關規範，致使產品進口至台灣後發生本次事件。經查，該產品配方中含有防腐劑「雙十二烷基硫酸硫胺明」，該成分於日本及台灣皆屬合法使用之食品添加物。然而，台灣與日本對該成分之使用標準有所差異，台灣規定其使用上限為01 g/kg，而本次邊境檢驗結果為 0.03 g/kg 至0.04 g/kg，已超出台灣法規標準，依規定須辦理邊境退運或銷毀。
3.不論是台灣本地生產或是我們從日本龜甲萬正式進口的商品，我們對消費者品質、安全、安心的約 定及信賴的約定，仍秉持一貫的堅持。我們將持續嚴守法律規範，並提供讓顧客容易理解而適切的資訊，以回饋顧客對我們的信賴。
