沙烏地阿拉伯證實一位81歲的男性已確診死於「中東呼吸症候群冠狀病毒」(MERS-CoV)，使得沙國目前55例感染中已有33例死亡，而根據世界衛生組織的統計，目前全球有70個確診案例，39例死亡。
上週五沙國衛生部發言人新增了一個41歲女性的病例，不過首都利雅德整體情勢還算穩定，還有一位32歲的癌症病人還在確診是否也得了MERS-CoV。
從我們6月14日的報導至 今，全球新增15個新病例，7人死亡。至於日前香港傳出的疑似病例，目前還沒有進一步訊息。值得一提的是，雖然依目前的確診案例與死亡數相比，MERS- CoV看似死亡率超過50%，但美國約翰霍普金斯大學醫學院教授Trish Perl表示，目前確診案例不多，症狀輕微的也沒有被視為是MERS-CoV，既然基數較小百分比就很高，因此不需要過度恐慌。
台灣疾病管制局建議出國民眾兩個注意事項，確保身心安全。
