大學指考即將落幕，許多考生第一時間不是跑去玩樂，而是到牙科報到！每年7月初是大學入學指定科目考試的日子，同時也是青少年邁入成人的長智齒時間。牙科醫師就發現，每年考季前後，都會發生不少學生熬夜讀書，造成牙齦發炎的現象，患者尤其以智齒發炎的人數最多。
台北醫學大學附設醫院牙科部主任黃瓊芳指出，智齒位於口腔內側，是最靠近喉嚨的牙齒，一般人的智齒，都會在18至25歲之間長出來，不過，什麼時候長智齒，總共長幾顆，則會因個人差異而有所不同。
黃瓊芳表示，智齒非常不容易清潔乾淨，進而會造成牙菌斑大量孳生而發生蛀牙，當民眾生活作息不正常，更會導致免疫力下降，也就會引起牙齦紅腫、發炎，嚴重者甚至出現蜂窩性組織炎。
每年7月份的考季前後，許多考生都會連續熬夜、邊吃零食邊讀書，容易忽略口腔清潔，在身體抵抗力低下時，就容易智齒發炎，進而到牙科報到；因此，黃瓊芳特別提醒考生盡量不要熬夜，並確實做好口腔清潔，以免影響考試情緒。
