值得注意的是,西瓜除了果肉冰涼消暑外,果皮的功用也不容小覷!中醫師葉曉容表示,吃完西瓜後,可別急著丟西瓜皮,因為西瓜皮加水熬煮 10-20 分鐘後所得的「西瓜水」,不僅喝起來甘甜,還可治療糖尿病、消暑、解渴,無疑是夏天最好的解熱飲品!
不過,西瓜雖然是適合夏天食用的水果,但仍應切忌不可貪多,特別是腸胃較差的民眾,更應注意適量即可,否則吃多了反而容易引起腹瀉、腹痛、脹氣、消化不良等不適症狀,得不償失。
